Reflexivity means that the observer changes the observed system. Expectation is not outside reality. It is a variable inside reality, and the behavior it drives can help manufacture the very outcome it expected.
The loop is expectation → behavior → changed reality → stronger expectation. Once the loop closes, the system self-reinforces until the real resource feeding the loop is exhausted.

Boundary Discipline
Financial reflexivity is a classical transmission chain. Expectations change inventories, exchange rates, prices, collateral, and balance sheets through accounts and trades. It should not be confused with quantum measurement claims.

Operating Rules
- Instrument the loop, not the mood. You cannot observe expectation directly; you observe inventory, lease rates, flows, spreads, positioning, and price impact.
- Reflexivity is a phase-transition accelerator. Slow variables accumulate, but a self-reinforcing loop can push them across the threshold.
- The loop is not perpetual. Each turn consumes a real resource: inventory, reserves, balance-sheet capacity, or counterparties.
Place in the Whole
Reflexivity belongs to the grammar of change. Phase Transition names the state switch; reflexivity often names the engine that pushes the system into the switch.
